On Wednesday my friends and I put on an Armor Template Building workshop.
For the first 30
minutes we discussed how each of us creates templates.
Then we broke into groups for a hands-on demonstration.
|Julia creates templates by using a dress form or model and taping paper to it and drawing the desired shape.||Jose uses the computer, creating the best 2-d shape he can using photos, and printing it out. He then cuts it out and tries it on, making his adjustments on the computer||Toby drew free-hand the first layer of the multi-layered Sauron armor, and then traced over what he had just drawn as to what the second layer looks like on top of the first.|
I wanted to note
that I learned a lot from both of these guys!
In fact, I've used their methods already... thanks you two for being part of this workshop!
I couldn't have done it without you!!
A very big thank you to Miranda and Celeste for providing many of the photos you will see in this workshop report!
